Sprinkler controllers with all the right
features...
Bells? Whistles?
We don't know of any
sprinkler controllers that come with either, but there are important
features to consider when making a choice.
Your sprinkler controller
tells your sprinklers how often and how long to water
using electrical signals via control wires. It truly is
the is the "brain" of your watering system.
Controllers with multiple
programs are a good idea for creating separate watering
calendars for different elements of your garden. For instance,
outlying shrub areas need water less frequently than annual flower
beds or lawns. Separate programs allow watering more or fewer days,
and at different times of day.
Non-volatile memory is
also a good idea. It saves your program better than back-up
batteries when the power fails.
If it looks
intimidating, call us for help...
We know that programming
sprinkler controllers is not something you do very often.
What happens if you can't remember how, and the manual has been
misplaced?
Most of the sprinkler
controllers we've installed look something like these, with a
digital display, a center dial, and arrow keys or buttons to perform
various functions.
